Two-Day Mask Creation Workshop

October 4-5, 2025 | 10AM–6PM (both days) Prophecy Hall | 1113 Wolcott Ave, Beacon, NY 12508 Step into a weekend of sculptural storytelling. In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you’ll sculpt, mold, and cast a decorative and/or wearable mask or creature head from scratch—building a character as you build its form. Whether you're drawn to the theatrical, the folkloric, or the beautifully bizarre, this is a space for makers who give shape to new worlds. We’ll move through the full fabrication process: ✨ Sculpting – Shape and refine your design. ✨ Mold-Making – Learn both plaster and silicone techniques. ✨ Casting & Finishing – Produce a lightweight, durable resin piece to mount, wear... or let lurk in your garage. You’ll leave with your finished creation and reusable mold—ready to replicate or expand upon at home. To ensure we hit the ground running, you’ll receive a welcome video in advance with inspiration, tips, and prompts to begin shaping your concept. For those who’d like more focused support, a limited number of virtual design consults are available to help refine ideas ahead of time. Please note: we’ll be starting from a basic mask form and working within size/complexity limits to ensure everyone finishes strong. My goal is for you to walk away not only with a piece you're proud of—but the skills and confidence to go even bigger in your own time. I’m a local Beacon-based maker with a love for dramatic silhouettes, old-school craft, and teaching that’s as hands-on as it is heartfelt. (Think Julia Child meets creature shop—with slightly more dancing.) *** All materials are included.
